For the first time.
So, this is my first post. I suppose I should start with who I am.
My name's Poppy Elizabeth Ramsay, I'm 16 and I'm still discovering who I am. I believe in Jesus, but have been out of the church environment for a while now.
I was born in Birmingham, U.K, and because my dad was in the British Army, I moved around England a lot during my childhood, and at the age of 11, moved to Kirriemuir, Scotland. However, I immigrated to Australia in April 2009, and lived there for over 2 years, but moved back home a month ago.
Australia is a great place to visit, but for me, wasn't the ideal place to live. This is mostly down to the fact that most of my family live in the U.K, and so it wasn't home.
I'm spending Summer with my grandparents, in Birmingham, but am moving back up to Kirriemuir to finish my last 2 years of school.
Moving around as much as I have has made it difficult to keep friendships going. I'm a fairly outgoing person, so it's not hard making new friends, but when it comes to trust, I find it hard to open up to my friends having only known them a little while.
Even going back to Kirriemuir will be hard because I'm moving back a year in school, meaning that I will be in classes with people I didn't surround myself with before. It'll be a challenge, but I'm keeping optimistic. I'm determined to make this work because it's the last "fresh" start I'll have.
I'm keen to start going to Church again once I'm back in Scotland. I started going to Church when I was in Australia, so the Church in Dundee will be a new one for me. They have a youth group, like the churches in Australia do, so I'll be able to make friends with people who also have a passion for Jesus Christ.
I'll try to post on this blog regularly, however, I can't make any promises.
Thanks for reading,
PR. :)
